Southern California Conference Human Resources Department [Updated December 6, 2012]Welcome to the official website of the Southern California Conference Human Resources Department. This site is primarily designed to assist and inform the workers of the Conference. We are adding forms, articles and other resources that you as an employee may find helpful. If you have any suggestions or comments, we invite you to contact us. Thank you for visiting and may God bless you as you serve Him. Open enrollment for our Aflac plans is in full swing. You have heard or will hear from one of our Aflac representatives during November or December. A paycheck stub stuffer was included with your most recent paycheck stub. Remember, all employees, part-time or full-time, are eligible to sign up for most of the Aflac programs. Thursday, December 1, 2011 marks the beginning of our health plan open enrollment month. Watch your e-mails for our e-mail message containing information about your health care coverage. You will have the option of staying in your current plan, switching to our other available plan, or even declining our coverage (if you have other credible coverage). We are hoping to minimize your (and our) paperwork this year since there will be minimal changes in our health plan. We continue to offer two choices in Blue Shield of California, a high-deductible PPO and an HMO. The Delta Dental program will continue to give an option of the PPO/Premier Network Plan and the HMO Plan called DeltaCare USA. You can switch between the two on a monthly basis. The HMO plan has the benefit of having no deductible and no annual maximum. It is ideal for those who have deferred dental needs (that means for those of us who have ignored our teeth for too long). Please review the materials carefully. Our Blue Shield Vision plan continues in 2012 with no changes. Remember, you do not have to wait 12 months to purchase lenses and frames. You can buy new lenses and/or frames anytime in 2012. The timing is up to you and your budget, not when 12 months have elapsed since your last purchase. We still have our employee auxiliary benefits. Chiropractic/Acupuncture coverage continues unchanged. The Employee Assistance Plans continue with some minor modifications to the counseling and hearing aid assistance. The Alternative Health Care Employee Assistance Plan remains unchanged. A major change you will notice will be in our Human Resources Department website. After the open enrollment period, starting on January 2, 2012, access to the website will be restricted to current employees (and spouses) and those who have been offered a position. We will also authorize access to other individuals on an "as-needed" basis. An example may be a local church or school volunteer who will be initiating paperwork for locally-funded employees and needs access to forms. Please continue to come back to this website. In the near future, we will be uploading tutorials to help you complete your paperwork, find a health care provider, request early funding of your health savings account and claim your deductible/out-of pocket copayment reimbursements. We are also going to start a Question & Answer page where you may be able find answers to questions you have, and more importantly, to submit questions online. If the question is one which may be helpful to share with others, we will post your question (anonymously of course) with the answer. As the year goes on, this site will become more helpful. The questions and answers will be categorized by topic. We think you will find that our website this year will be more user-friendly and more useful. Please feel free to comment and submit questions and suggestions through our "Contact us" button. |
